The Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) Testing System is a comprehensive solution designed for accurate determination of vapor pressure in petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), fully compliant with ASTM D323, ASTM D1267, and related standards.
The system includes high-quality polished stainless steel test cylinders configured in one-opening and two-opening types. These cylinders consist of upper and lower chambers in the required 4:1 volume ratio, ensuring precise measurement conditions. O-ring gaskets provide secure sealing between chambers and at the gauge coupling. The one-opening type is suitable for gasoline and products with Reid Vapor Pressure below 26 psi (180 kPa), while the two-opening type is designed for higher pressure liquids and LPG testing. The two-opening apparatus also features a straight-through ball valve and a 1/4" needle valve for controlled operation. For LPG applications, an optional bleeder valve assembly is available. The system withstands hydrostatic pressures up to 1000 psi (6894 kPa) as per ASTM D1267 specifications.
To enhance testing efficiency, the Wireless Reid Vapor Pressure Data Acquisition System offers Windows®-based software for real-time pressure monitoring and analysis. It supports up to eight pressure vessel channels simultaneously, with independent configuration for pressure ranges of 0–50, 0–200, and 0–1000 psi. The software displays live pressure and RVP graphs and automatically exports data to Microsoft® Excel for reporting and storage.
The system is complemented by high-precision constant temperature baths designed to maintain accurate testing conditions:
- 4/6-Unit RVP Bath:
Provides controlled immersion of test cylinders at ASTM-specified depths with ±0.2°F (±0.1°C) temperature accuracy. Features microprocessor PID control for rapid stabilization, dual LED displays for temperature monitoring, and an over-temperature safety circuit. Constructed with a double-wall insulated stainless steel tank, it includes built-in holders and an overflow drain system.
- 21-Unit RVP Bath:
Designed for high-throughput laboratories, this bath accommodates up to twenty-one test cylinders simultaneously. It features electronic level control for precise immersion depth, a powerful 6 kW stainless steel heat exchanger for rapid heating, and a heavy-duty circulation system for uniform temperature distribution. The robust stainless steel construction ensures durability, while the control panel is protected by a hinged acrylic cover for safety and ease of use.
