The Dropping Point Apparatus is a precision instrument designed for determining the dropping point of lubricating greases at temperatures up to 550°F (288°C). This critical parameter indicates the temperature at which grease transitions from a semi-solid to a liquid state, helping evaluate its thermal stability and performance under high-temperature conditions.

The system consists of a dropping point cup, a test cell with essential accessories, and a temperature-controlled oil bath equipped with a stirrer and heater. The test cell is immersed in a 400 mL borosilicate glass bath, ensuring uniform heat distribution and controlled heating at the specified rate.

A powerful 1000W heater with variable stepless control allows precise adjustment of the temperature rise, while the integrated 1/40 hp stirrer ensures consistent mixing for uniform thermal conditions throughout the test. The heater assembly is designed with a refractory top plate and reference dial, providing durability and ease of operation.
