The Oxidation Stability Test Bath is a precision instrument designed for conducting lubricant oxidation stability tests in accordance with ASTM D6082 specifications. It is capable of performing two simultaneous tests at 150°C with a controlled airflow rate of 200 mL/min, ensuring accurate and repeatable analysis.
The system consists of a constant temperature bath equipped with 1000 mL test cylinders, certified diffusers, air delivery tubes, and flowmeters for precise control of airflow conditions. Advanced microprocessor PID temperature control ensures rapid heat-up and stable temperature maintenance without overshoot, while dual LED displays provide clear readings of both actual and setpoint temperatures in °C/°F format.
Efficient high-temperature operation is achieved using quick-response copper immersion heaters, while an integrated stirrer ensures uniform temperature distribution within ±1°F (±0.5°C). Locking cam mechanisms securely hold the test cylinders in a vertical position during operation, and a separate rack is provided for safe handling after removal from the bath.
For enhanced safety, the system includes an acrylic heat shield surrounding the borosilicate glass bath jar, protecting the operator during high-temperature testing.
