The Dual-Bath Oxidation Stability Test System is a high-performance solution designed for evaluating lubricant oxidation stability under controlled conditions. It performs two simultaneous tests at 75°F (24°C) and two at 200°F (93.5°C), ensuring comprehensive analysis across varying temperature environments.
The system consists of two constant temperature baths (12" × 18") equipped with 1000 mL test cylinders, certified diffusers, air delivery tubes, and flowmeters calibrated at 94 mL/min for each sample. This setup ensures precise airflow and consistent test conditions as required for standardized oxidation stability testing.
Each bath is powered by microprocessor-based PID temperature control, enabling rapid stabilization without overshoot. Copper immersion heaters and 1/20 hp circulation stirrers ensure uniform temperature distribution within ±1°F (±0.5°C). Dual LED displays provide clear monitoring of actual and setpoint temperatures in °C/°F format.
Test cylinders are securely held in place using quick-locking cam mechanisms integrated into the bath cover assembly. A separate stainless steel rack is included for safe handling and placement of cylinders after testing.
The low-temperature bath (24°C) is equipped with built-in coils for conditioning exit air from high-temperature tests before it reaches the volume measurement system. It also includes an additional coil for circulating cooling water or refrigerant when ambient temperatures exceed test requirements, ensuring stable operation under varying conditions.
For safety and durability, the system includes an over-temperature protection circuit that automatically cuts off power if preset limits are exceeded. The entire unit is housed in a robust steel base with a chemical-resistant polyurethane enamel finish. Rubber stoppers and glass air outlet tubes are provided for each test cylinder to complete the setup.
