Animals are placed in a clear acrylic induction chamber, where a precisely mixed oxygen–isoflurane flow induces anesthesia quickly and uniformly. During procedures, heated surgical beds or warming plates maintain body temperature, while non-rebreathing nosecones with high-sensitivity valves regulate the gas flow based on the animal’s respiration.
An activated charcoal filter ensures that the air released back into the laboratory is clean and safe, keeping isoflurane exposure levels well below OSHA limits.
