The Linkam CCR1000 Catalyst Cell Reactor is a specialised high‑performance stage engineered for studying heterogeneous catalytic reactions under controlled temperature and gas environments. Designed for both academic and industrial research, the CCR1000 enables small‑scale catalyst testing while allowing simultaneous microscopic observation and spectroscopic analysis of reactions as they occur.
Samples are mounted on virtually unreactive disposable ceramic fabric filters placed inside a ceramic heating chamber that can heat from ambient temperature up to 1000 °C at rates of up to 200 °C/min. The reactor design minimises dead volume, ensuring gases remain at elevated temperatures to avoid condensation prior to gas analysis, making the system ideal for high‑precision catalytic studies.
The CCR1000 has been constructed using ceramic and stainless‑steel components in all areas exposed to sample and carrier gases, maximising chemical inertness and compatibility with reactive or corrosive gases (subject to heater lifetime considerations). Optical access to the reaction chamber allows compatibility with reflected‑light microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and FT‑IR operando techniques.
Temperature control is provided by the Linkam T96‑S controller using an S‑type platinum/rhodium thermocouple, delivering excellent accuracy and fast response, with integrated thermocouple linearisation and cold junction compensation. The stage body is water‑cooled, ensuring safe operation during prolonged high‑temperature experiments above 300 °C.
