FAME contamination in aviation turbine fuel can occur during fuel transportation, storage, or due to insufficient cleaning of pipelines previously used for biodiesel or other fuels. erajet fame helps detect even very low levels of FAME contamination in jet fuel, reducing the risk of fuel quality issues and ensuring compliance with aviation fuel standards.
The analyzer offers lab-grade precision with repeatability of r ≤ 4 mg/kg and reproducibility of R ≤ 6 mg/kg across a measurement range of 10 to 250 mg/kg for AVTUR. Its rugged metal housing, lightweight design, and compact footprint make it suitable for airports, military facilities, fuel terminals, aviation laboratories, and remote field locations.
With a measurement time of only 5 minutes, erajet fame is one of the fastest FAME in jet fuel analyzers available. The fully automated process includes sample introduction, measurement, and result calculation, making it easy to operate even for untrained users. Cleaning is simple and does not require special solvents.
The analyzer uses advanced non-dispersive infrared transmission technology combined with two selective absorption cartridges. The first cartridge removes non-polar components, while the second cartridge selectively separates polar contaminants such as oxidation products, FAME, and esters. This technology provides highly accurate and reliable FAME measurements.
erajet fame also includes FIC – FAME Interference Check™, which compares signals from two independent IR detectors with different wavelength filters. This allows the analyzer to distinguish between actual FAME contamination and other esters or plasticizers. If contaminants other than FAME are detected, the instrument reports the result as total esters in jet fuel.
For additional fuel property analysis, erajet fame can be directly connected to eradens xs. This combination enables simultaneous measurement of FAME content and density according to ASTM D4052, providing a complete aviation fuel quality testing solution.
