The KV5000 Kinematic Viscosity Bath with optical flow detection system is designed for automatic viscosity testing of petroleum, petrochemical, lubricant, fuel, and oil samples. Ideal for laboratories performing ASTM viscosity analysis, the system delivers accurate and repeatable measurements for a wide range of petroleum products.
The bath supports up to five optical detection assemblies with dedicated communication and power ports for fully automated viscosity testing. Two additional positions are available for manual measurements, and all positions can also be operated in manual mode when required. The system is compatible with interchangeable Ubbelohde, Cannon-Fenske, and Cannon-Fenske Opaque Reverse Flow viscometer tubes, allowing fast installation, easy cleaning, and simple tube replacement.
The KV5000 can automatically measure viscosity and calculate results without the need for an external PC. Its motorized stirrer ensures uniform temperature distribution without turbulence, while advanced microprocessor PID control maintains stable bath temperatures within ASTM specified tolerances. Dual digital displays provide easy monitoring of both set and actual temperatures, and a two-point calibration offset feature improves testing accuracy. The built-in cooling coil supports reliable temperature control at ambient and below-ambient conditions.
The included Kinematic Viscosity Software Package automatically captures test data, calculates final results from sample efflux times, and stores information in a secure database. The software also supports average calculations, standard deviation analysis, ASTM repeatability evaluation, and tracking of instrument and viscometer tube calibrations for complete laboratory data management.
