The Koehler LKV series offers advanced refrigerated temperature control for precise kinematic viscosity testing of liquids, lubricants, and bitumens under low-temperature conditions. The LKV3000 operates from ambient to -30°C (-22°F), while the LKV4000 extends the range to -70°C (-94°F). Both models feature microprocessor PID control with dual digital displays, selectable °C/°F scales, and two-decimal calibration offsets for precise temperature management.
Bath chambers are contained in clear, evacuated Dewar flasks with glare-free fluorescent backlighting, ensuring excellent visibility when working with viscometers. Standard models accommodate four glass capillary viscometers with 2" (51 mm) round holders. The LKV5000 series incorporates an optical flow detection system, enabling automatic viscosity measurements and communication with up to four optical detection assemblies, while allowing manual operation at additional positions.
Construction includes an insulated steel cabinet with polyester-epoxy finish, chemical-resistant top, and adjustable leveling feet. Front viewing windows provide distortion-free visibility. Safety features include over-temperature cut-off, low liquid level protection, and redundant controllers, ensuring safe operation in all conditions. Air-cooled hermetic compressors use CFC-free refrigerants for efficient cooling.
Fully compliant with ASTM, ISO, IP, DIN, FTM, and NF T standards, the LKV series is ideal for industrial labs, R&D, and quality control requiring reliable low-temperature kinematic viscosity measurements.
