The Automatic Aniline Point Apparatus is a high-precision instrument for determining the aniline point and mixed aniline point of petroleum products and hydrocarbon solvents. Conforming to ASTM D611, IP 2, ISO 2977, DIN 51775, FTM 791-3601, and NF M 07-021, it automatically performs tests via a modified thin-film technique with digital temperature readout, providing accurate aromatic content assessment and hydrocarbon characterization.
The Automatic Aniline Point Apparatus is designed to characterize pure hydrocarbons and evaluate the aromatic content of hydrocarbon mixtures. Testing involves heating a controlled mixture of aniline and sample until miscibility, followed by cooling to determine the temperature at which phase separation occurs — the aniline point or mixed aniline point.
The apparatus is fully automated, employing a platinum immersion heater for direct sample heating and photoelectric detection for precise endpoint identification. The large LED temperature display ensures clear readings, while a built-in pressure regulator and solenoid valve allow cooling air for accelerated cycles or sub-ambient testing. With refrigerated cooling, aniline points as low as 0°C (32°F) can be determined.
Variable controls for heater, light source, and stirrer speed provide flexibility, and the cabinet is coated with a chemical-resistant polyurethane enamel finish for durability. The system is suitable for samples ranging from clear to very dark, ensuring broad applicability in petroleum and solvent analysis laboratories.
